The team within the company are tasked with managing the time slot bookings and day to day operation of the dish and its control, communications and data centre facilities.

The Future of The Big Dish Company

In 2017 the latest stage in the site's development has begun as we refurbish and upgrade the dish along the control and lab facilities located in it's base. On completion the dish will be fully operational with up to date tracking and control systems.

The existing beam waveguide technology has been retained and can be custom configured for specific customer needs such as cryogenic or water-cooled technology.

The latest feature to be installed is a capability to quickly and economically mount smaller receivers at the focal point of the articulating dish itself. This offers a unique opportunity for smaller organisations to develop, test and deploy their technology at an affordable price and for short time slots. Additionally this feature allows receivers to be fitted which are not suited for a beam waveguide delivery configuration.
